Oh deary me
Maybe it's a virus...
To be fair I'd have properly spat the dummy on that.
Felt properly ill after that one. Managed to get off bike then just laid on the floor in the kitchen.
41st out of 64 on Zwift.
13 from 19 on zpower.
Notice another STWer was in there in D, Alistair?👍
@ mooman, that's a total bitch. Don't think I've ever had that?
Mooman that happened to me in the tour de zwift last month on one of the stages, going well then everyone disappeared...I kept going and it recorded me going over the line, then no results.
The air went blue....
Yes bit frustrating. I expected for other riders to show after a couple seconds so just used the Aero and gave an extra effort hoping it would keep me towards front of pack by time it came back on .. unfortunately it didn`t. The ride hasnt even loaded to Strava.
Lost connection all together by looks.
Just you not on Strava or other riders too?
It not showing anything for me on zwiftpower or Strava for that ride. But showing my 10 minute warm up before. I am thinking that when I log on next time to zwift it will upload it then.
I had changed my wheels from my usual Lightweight Meilensteins for the Zipp808s ... and they were a much better choice to race with. I had always used the Lightweight Meilensteins because I always seem to lose the front group on a climb, so assumed they would help avoiding that. But I guess the extra effort to stay with the pack robs the legs before you get to a climb. I shall be staying with the Zipps from now on. I had a PR flash up as I got to top of climb today, and stayed towards front of pack all way up instead of finding myself sliding off back as usual.
I use the 454s mostly on the same basis. Better uphill in theory and good at aero too.
You can manually upload your ride to Strava. On a PC it's hidden in the Documents/zwift folder
Just watched the pro-am stage 2 race. Not watched any of this stuff before on the companion app.
The guy that sprints at the end to get the win was putting out over 16wkg.😳
I think the best I've even managed, for a matter of seconds, is around 8wkg.
Despite the good advice, I U turned at the start of the Alp and the managed to get lost coming back ending up in the reverse Epic KOM whatever that is. But at least during my warm up...
I think the best I’ve even managed, for a matter of seconds, is around 8wkg.
...I managed a 14.7wkg sprint over 6s. 🙂
Bit of a 1hr test failure today, had nothing in my legs at 40mins in despite holding 3.4w/KG before then on my familiar negative split strategy. Just a bad day in the office I suppose, as I was +3% on my 20min ftp on Tuesday having not yet started a Build phase.
I have a 3-4hr MTB race at Thetford tomorrow which this may have a bearing on 😀
I shall be having another go at TOZ stage 2 race today at 14:10 .. hopefully no issues!
I only found out about the drops thing today. I had wondered what the counter on the side was for - well I got over 2 million altogether - but you have got to be at certain levels to purchase the better frames and wheels etc; bit pointless then isnt it!!
Changed frame for the Cervelo s5 with the zipp808 .. apparently its the fastest set up available for my level 28.
Yep I have a Madone with Zip 303’s with 1.5 levels to go before I can swap it for a Venge. 5 million drops to spend.
It does seem pointless then accumulating millions of drops if there is nothing to use them for.
It seems I was very lucky to get the Lightweight Meilensteins; got them 1st or 2nd time up the Alpe. With the Spesh Tarmac I apparently have the best set up available for climbing ... if only I had more fitness and less belly!
Did my Tour stage 2 09-10 race this morning, Cat D
https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=356798
Finished mid 20's in the race but there must have been some weight doping going on, or riders without HR etc, cos Zwift Power boosted me to first place, my first GOLD!!! Whoop!
Pace wasn't too bad at first and I kept with the front group until the KOM, then it split and I was riding with a couple of guys to the end, trying to hang on. I sprinted too early and was dying in the last 100m, but luckily only one caught me on the line.
PR's on the flat and the KOM, pleased with that one. I seem to pick the races where everyone in front of me gets disqualified 😉
5km from start lost connection again; so did the ODZ 29km Cat & Mouse hilly race .. hate those climbs!
The connection was fine for the ODZ race so I guess it's just the TOZ that's the prob.
Sorry if this has been asked in here somewhere already but anyone know if the Wahoo app will work on an Amazon Fire 7 tablet?
Actually I guess not as they don't use an Android os do they...

Nice one, you did it over 3 minutes faster than me buddy!👍

Should do as long as you can access the Play store? Or is it on the Amazon equivalent? I don't own a Fire but it is based on the Android os.... That said, on my pixel 3 it won't update my Core (though everything else works).... On my android tablet it does. So a little bit and miss.
Good race today even though I only got on with <1 min to start.

Felt strong, so 4 times I tried to split the group, twice it worked and dumped 2-3 riders out, the other 2 times I was pushing 400w but they just all came with me!!! Ouch.
Finished well with a decent bit of speed though, good result and plenty of ranking points.
The Sufferfest has started doing training plans for virtual racing:
“The demands of virtual racing are very different from those of real-world disciplines. Virtual races tend to be short, punchy and brutal. They're very much surge-steady-surge-steady-sprint. These plans place less emphasis on training long, steady state efforts and focus substantially on your 5-minute (MAP) and 1-minute (AC) power while improving the ability to recover quickly at or slightly below threshold."
And there was me thinking virtual racing was training for real life riding...
Sufferfest kinda trying to divert away from their inability to replicate Zwift.
Zwift (the longer 30-40K ones) races feel very much like the efforts I used to put in for crit races.
I have done many club rides that have felt the same, or tougher, than Road races ... so road races all depends on the mix of who has entered .. meh!
Good result Weeksy; great feeling when the legs and lungs are pumping strong!!
@weeksy I'd challenge that result, the winner is 3.5W/Kg average and 3.5W/Kg 20mins, beyond the 02.W/Kg "grace" zone. You are the legit winner, strong effort.
The guy has been upgraded after that event.
He was still inside 3.4 which is the immediate DQ and doesn't have history of running over 3.2. Nor was his average over 3.2 prior to the event.
I don't mind, i picked up ranking points and i didn't see him taking the proverbial and being stronger than anyone else, so i'm good with it.
Some days you win, some days you nearly win, all days you enjoy.
This tour has really affected the numbers in other events, I don't get excited about joining a race that only has 2 or 3 riders...
Got my first ZP podium on one of today's ToW Stage 2 races - was very unsteady on my feet when I eventually fell/climbed off the turbo though!
Kickr Climb on 100% realism through Titan's Grove certainly encourages you to get out of the saddle...
Great job!!!! Well done indeed
Promoted to 1st - I've not had a result like that since racing with virtual power on Jarvis Island against approx 4 other people.
Cheers Weeksy!
Just out of interest - and for when or if it happens - can people stick up a bit of a comment about their pre and post having virus experiences / any impact on fitness levels. Even if its at the mild is it or is it manflu level.
Well I had flu type stuff over Xmas.
Finished a series and got upgraded to B on the last event.
Very tired after that in the run up to Xmas then 3 weeks ill and longer not feeling right after.
All in all about 6 weeks of very little.
Last event
https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=266746
Won the sprint after breaking away for about 8 minutes.
This also the day after a 1 hour Vo2 max session.
273 watts and 283NP
3rd event back after 2 months (first was disastrous and had to sit up and second was a lot longer race)
https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=327048
Shorter with no real prior session and turned myself inside out to win.
264 watts and 266NP
I'm now not dictating pace up hills in C races and my sprint is blunted by the effort to hang on.
The NP is the real problem as I'm nearly 20 watts down.
It'll come back...
Stage 3 - the good news was a top ten but then the bad news was I was promoted/disqualified for w/kg so it looks like I'm officially a Cat C'er from now on.
I didn't know about the kicker at the finish though, that proper ruined my plans for a sprint finish!
That Herd Bullseye points race must be absolutely brutal at full race pace, with points based on your position through the lap banner for everyone of the 16 laps of Downtown Dolphin... I was happy to put my sensible head back on after the first lap, given I now officially have to self-isolate, after my better half was told not to goto work today due to symptoms.
Ivan which time slot were you in? I was in the 1910 Stage 3 Race - Tour of Watopia 2020 on Whole Lotta Lava.
Pretty pleased with the result 8th in the companion App in Cat C but Gold on the Zwift Power Results, think I'm still scraping into Cat C on the rolling averages but think one more decent result and I'll be bumped (and hopefully feel ready) for Cat B.
Still dropping a bit of weight albeit at a slower pace which is obviously helping the w/kg figures.
Yeah same race & time but I entered as a Cat D. Not hugely pleased to be moving up to C as my recent run of form has been entirely dependent on knowing how to get into the front group, being reasonably comfy on the flats, going backwards on the climbs when the kg side of the w/kg equation becomes more important but being able to bring it back to an extent when it levels off again.
In Cat C I won't be able to hang with the group, I'll go backwards even faster on the climbs and then I won't be bringing anything back together on the run ins!
Kelvin, awesome!
Ivan, you'll get there, I never dreamed of winning a C race, but I now do
Stage 3 race today, including up the Volcano KOM.
Interesting one as i rarely do that.
PR before today for Corkscrew was 9mins 50.
Today i put in a 9mins 05
Now considering i've tried pretty hard on the hill previously too, i'm very happy with that indeed.
Gold and a race win too
https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=356879
Good effort!
I've signed up for the Saturday 1912hrs Cat C stage 4 so might see you on the start line.
nice 😎Gold and a race win too
I am gonna do the A group ride on the MTB, working on unlocking the zebra skin for the MTB!!
I’ve signed up for the Saturday 1912hrs Cat C stage 4 so might see you on the start line
Don't really do evening rides and planning on outdoors too on Saturday
Not ridden all week with the madness of work at moment; but 6 days annual leave from today, so the 14:10 3R Classique Flat Race looks good.
Is it borked, with all the free sub folk joining in? Tried to log on but just get an internal server error message
Zwift or Zwiftpower ?
Zwift.
