Hi

This is not in anyway trying to get a free advert / exposure etc. but I would really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback / comments, positive or negative on the website below. Its a new website and I want to try and help the owner in anyway I can, so your opinions / comments would be greatly appreciated.
Website - www.speedycourierservices.co.uk

Thanks
Ray

Nice clean look and the spelling's ok (I can't stand poor spelling on professional websites). Might I suggest that you make your USP (only same day deliveries) the main headline on the home page? As it is, your customer will have to have spent quite a while on the site before they come across it.

Thanks for your feedback Neil.
I'm not sure what you mean regarding the headline as on the home page? the USP (same day delivery) is already stated on the logo, the header and in the first line of the text.
Thanks again Neil,
Ray

Less exlaimation marks and ...s, looks childish.

"Delivery today is just a phone call away" overlaps the photo, makes it tricky to read at a glance.

"News" and "Testimonials" is ostensibly the same page. Don't you have any news?

I can't put my finger on it exactly, but this is clunky.

... trust the specialist same day couriers to take care of it for you.

Speedy Courier Services specialise in same day deliveries

I think maybe it reads a bit like a spammy boilerplate website. Company name specialise in [google term], contact us now for all your [google term] needs!!

Good spot. It's neither in the black bar nor clearly overlapping the photo, so it looks like a mistake. Doubly so as it lists slightly upwards.

Gotta give a clue on prices. I don't want to ring some salesman on a possible premium rate number to find out it's £400 to ship a set of forks. Even just a "prices from..." would be useful.

Cougar/Duane
Thank you for your comments - You've made some valid points, some of which they are already working on at the moment. What things do you like about the site (if anything)?
Cheers,
Ray

I like the graphics (logo and photo strip), rest of it needs a bit of work, as others have stated, to get it looking a bit more pro.

Hi Ray, just to let you know it doesn't display properly on iOS (iphone and i'm guessing iPad as well). Text comes up in a thin white box down left side. Can upload a pic if you want to see what i mean. You probably need an alternative CSS for mobile devices/smaller screens.

Totally agree - thanks
What do you think about the green men (4 steps on the right hand side)?
Breatheeasy
I appreciate what your saying but the type of service that is being offered is more specialist and not a "cheap" service (dedicated vehicles). So prices have to be done per job. They are looking at putting an email quote option on the site - what do you think?
Great feedback guys, keep it coming please.
Cheers,
Ray

It's a bit text-heavy, and as Cougar mentions there is substantial repetition between pages. For example, when I click a 'sevices' tab I'd want a list of what a company does, facts not blurb... And that blurb where it is used ought to be meaningful - "Our ultra reliable delivery service is quickly making us the number one choice for customers nationwide." If you're just starting out you can't be the number one choice nationwide yet.

Otherwise, nice clean design, some rough indication of price range would probably help.

Yeah, they're ok, in the same sort of style as the logo.
(I'd say ordering online should be a step, but maybe that's in the pipeline 🙂 )

Lots of stuff very well done, nice. The only thing I would be tempted to fix from your point of view is that the majority of information 'above the fold' (ie. the first thing that a visitor sees) is graphic. Google places some weight on this area apparently but you don't really have much info. in there for google to use. At a minimum you want the alt text for the top left image to also include 'same day deliveries' and the alt text for the lower image to have something like 'same day delivery to all parts of the UK by van and HGV'. You get the idea.

Do speedy deliveries actually own a signwritten HGV? If not it's a bit dishonest to show one on the website. If they are dishonest about that, what else are they dishonest about? (OK, I'm taking this to extremes, but under promise and over deliver is better than over promise and under deliver)
