An old friend of my mother’s is ailing with cancer and is trying to tidy up his estate.

Several dead Ash trees needed felling. My pal and I offered to lend a hand in exchange for some timber to mill rather than seeing it all go into his biomass boiler

It was an epic three twelve hour days but there were compensations

We were given the keys to and a diving lesson with the Yammar tracked tumper. More thrilling at walking speeds than you can imagine. We never tried fourth gear

If you need some inspiration, my mate Rob (who also wrote the book "Its' all about the Bike) has a great book about the history and versatility of the Ash tree
