If you have a Booths near you, they are doing Aberlour 16 year old for £22.49 - and it's bloody lovely.

Me too. Stocked up on pies and ale after recent trip to Cumbria but now out of pies.

warton Caol Ila is very nice but it's all subjective innit 🙂

I prefer Lagavulin but it's a little different - need to try it really. I think if you like Islay whisky you won't be dissapointed though.

Booths is indeed the supermarket of champions, which is why it's in the north. 😐

anyone got any opinion on Caol Ila?

Finkynick had a bottle at SSUK in Dalby. Like liquid smoke. So, awesome!

Caol Ila is my current favourite Islay.

The Gordon and MacPhail bottling of Caol Ila is superb also

Subjective as others have said but my personal favourite (unlike some of the other Islay malts which can be used to soak medicinal bandages)

I went on the Aberlour distillery tour when I had some slack time after business in the Walkers Shortbread Factory. And then stagger back to the hotel for huge tea and more whiskey.

Hmmm, whiskey and shortbread. On expenses.

While were on whisky bargains, bit of insider info for you and this is legit

Glen Marnoch 12 year old (£12.99 in Aldi) is actually a 12 yr old Dalmore (£35 - £40 per bottle).

apparently Aldi bought the whole vat cheap, ONLY THE 12YR!
