I bought a couple of 3600mAh packs from ebay and a set of chargers - the sort that plug into the front of each controller and then into a USB socket. Seems pretty simple, for but the life of me, I can only get them to work occassionally. There were no instructions and I cant find anything on the web.
The charger lead has an LED at the controller end. Red = charge, Green = fully charged, but the light rarely comes on.
Has anyone else got these, I reckon they might only work when used with a PC and after the charger has been "installed" and driver loaded up, it certainly doesnt seem to work when connected to a mains USB plug.
I've got one I use directly with the Xbox which seems to be a bit flaky, light doesn't always come on. Don't think they charge with xbox off either which is a pain.
this thread is of interest to me....
Looking for a rechargeable pack for my controller.
Was going to trawl eBay. I guess I have to be careful then...
having had a quick look on eBay there doesnt seem to be anything specified about installation etc. Most likely its just a bit of a duff unit. Given the ridiculously cheap prices of some of them Id expect half of them to be crap out of the box anyway.
Battery pack was about £3 for 2, the chargers about the same price. Not sure if the charger is designed to charge normal NiMH batteries, but didnt seem to work in my case.
So, much cheaper than the official chargers, but doesnt seem reliable. But, it ought to be pretty simple... The seller gave me a refund and said to not bother returning the items.
Weird that it trys to install itself when connected to my laptop.
I've just bought one of these for my lad, he's not complained about it so I presume it works OK

the venom ones are the first "branded" ones you get to after the v cheap chinese ones on ebay.

They know that there's a large proportion of their stuff that just wont work and write it off. Makes you realise what you are paying for 🙂
