I had a creeping suspicion that's what would be waiting for me when I clicked the thread. I think there's actually a "thing" within American hard rock where they explore their deeper, more emotional side by torturing classics. Witness.....

To the OP - they've been playing the song over here and I'm loving it!

Music is purely subjective and you either like it or you don't.
If you are 13, a whiney American brat who hates his mom and thinks his teacher sucks I'm sure the OP's record is really good.
But for the rest of humanity it really is pathetic. Not as bad as the bad company cover which will have most right minded people looking up their local taliban recruitment centre in the yellow pages.

Saw that posted on Facebook the other day. Think that it would've been better if my hopes hadn't been raised before hearing it.

Spat coffee on the keyboard from the title. Listened to about a minute of it. It sucks. The original was pretentious nonsense but it doesn't make me want to smash the speakers the way that garbage does.

Hmmm.. I lasted about 40seconds too.

Not my thing at all.

But I admire them for covering it, why not.

That would be from Johnny Cash's still shit but dying phase. When he was discovered by all the grief athletes.

I quite like it. But... It's a superb song, and they've done nothing to it other than be a bit raspy, so for that it's a no from me.

It's better than the Nouela version that popped up below it on the YouTube feed.

Good choices Holst, TH are class but then so was Jimi. You should dig out the XTC version of all along the watchtower, god only knows what Andy Partridge had before he got on stage but he is away with it, brilliant, and eccentric to my mind and utterly baffling to many others. I would put up a linky but I have to dash off for an interview.

Meh.

Initially dull - the neon light didn't really split the night.

But wait here's a key change. That's original.

Then I'll get louder and more growly, that should be a good ending.

Thankfully it ended.

At work so youtube links dont show up.

But, can I safely assume that someone has posted Cash's cover of NIN Hurt?

Surely a 2 page thread on covers someone would have brought that up by now...

I rather like disturbed but that was a bit average. The land of confusion cover is however ruddy awesome!
Taken by trees : Sweet child of mine is a rather lovely version.

That was crap. But for balance, here's Richard Cheese doing a cover of a disturbed song.
