Can't believe all this negativity for Dave Hinde. If the wheels I bought from them a couple of decades ago had been usable, I probably wouldn't have learnt how to build my own. Never needed to buy a wheel since.

ATG (Ambassador Theatre Group)

Had to rearrange tickets due to covid. Doing it online could take up to 15 working days apparently, by which time it would have been too late, so I did it on the phone. 70 minutes on hold at a charged rate. Wakners.

PX/on one, the reason there are such mixed reviews is because the quality control is so bad people are effectively getting different bikes sold under one model name.

Or the wrong frame in the box - when when you return and get redelivered you get... the wrong frame in the box.

Go Outdoors. Wanted a new pair of boots last week and saw 2 possible options on their website, both in stock at Basingstoke.
Drove to the store but couldn't find them, assistant said they had never sold either of those items and didn't understand why they were showing as in stock.

BT for sure. Tried to use them when we moved in 2016 and 2021. Both times ended in a Kafkaesque nightmare of having no internet for months and no way of cancelling or finding out what's wrong. Almost impossible to escape from as well - sort of company that will send you a cheque for £0.12 months after your account is closed and then send a threatening letter to return your router that you never got.

Scottish Power

Blocked my switch because of a notional £35 debt which is now >£90 credit due to a monthly payment. Said they'd unblocked then blocked then unblocked.
All seemed fixed then I login to give a final meter reading and it says my electricity account has switched but not gas. New supplier says both have switched.
Then they don't answer the phone, except they do then an electronic voice says they're busy and hangs up. Go to Facebook and their last post is at Christmas and basically says don't call us we're busy. Finally got an email reply saying please contact us via the chat bot to resolve (already tried that and it's terrible) so reply saying no email correspondence only and the complaint I made is formal.
I'm only getting power from them as previous supplier went bust and ended up there.
Facebook page is full of woeful tales of bad debt (theirs), no electricity and no contact from them. Just avoid at all costs!

Right now every bastard company that won't just let you delete an account with a couple of clicks takes an equal first.

I'd have that made into a law if I could.

Bit of a thread hijack, but seeing as lots of people are having a pop at Go Outdoors for being useless, has any one ever experienced the following scenario whilst shopping there?
Take items to the till, only to be charged full price. Question the amount of time left on the 12 month members card, only to be told "oooh, only ran out a week ago. Would you like to renew for £5" .
Happened at least 3 times to me,the first two I never questioned cos I was in and out of there regularly, but the laxt time had me curious as I hadn't been in the shop or bought anything online for 3 years or so.
Left the whole pile of stuff on the counter and have never been back.
This happen to anyone else?

Has anyone tried to contact Hermes online or otherwise?

sigh, if my time comes and it's decided that i need to spend an eternity in hell, i'll go safe in the knowledge that it can't possibly be as bad as attempting the above.

they lost 2K of camera gear (business not personal fortunately)

hello its been 6 months now since i submitted my claim, i've heard nothing, any news?

"Its with the special department that deals with these specific issues"

thats what you said last month, any eta?

"No idea, they will contact you with a resolution"

but its been 6 months, can you give me a contact number?

"no sorry"

Why not?

"because your parcel was lost abroad its with a special department, we can't contact them"

Well if you won't give me the number i'm sure you can just give them a quick call for me?

"no sorry"

Why not?

"they don't have phones"

Really? what about an email address?

"they dont' have emails"

So nobody can help me except them and they are not contactable?

"correct"

ARRRRGH been two and a half years now.

This thread has reminded me to pick it back up next week, something to look forward to 🙁

Hell would have to freeze over and the ice road truckers would have to drag my rotting carcass across it before i'd use Hermes again, or anyone who wants to use them to send me somthing for that matter.

Currys! Can't be bothered to go through the whole story, as it's several fairly minor issues, but they are just so frustrating as they just do not want to talk to customers once they have your money!

Utter shower of shite! We used them as we had a good discount, and was spending about £1500, but I'd rather pay more next time.

Decathlon are shocking - have stock, you purchase said item, and then the item is not in stock.

They don't actually reserve until ready to ship - and when they do ship, its not available, but they have taken the money. The gift card that you used gets deducted from the money return - and they send you the gift card back, even though you bought other items.
And delivery is always 3 weeks plus.

And Netflights - they never return the money you paid for flights. Fortunately the credit card company did ...

Kiwi Travel. I bought tickets through them with Ryanair to go to Armenia. Come the lockdown I was asked for £18 on top to hasten the expediting of my money back. I got £300 out of the £700.

So you didn't shop with them for 3 years and were then surprised to find your 12 month membership had lapsed? 🤔

I assume he is taking issue with the story that "it had expired last week" given he hadn't bought anything in three years.

Definitely British gas.

Moved into a new house and they were the supplier. Called them to setup an account.

4 failed attempts at setting up a direct debit
They've registered my online account with the completely wrong email address and they're unable to change it.

Have sacked them and moved to Scottish Power😂

two pages and no mention of Laithwaites, they must have gone bust.

And a special mention for Craghoppers you pratts. For a laugh when I ordered a pair of trousers I decided to tick the box for 'The Right Honorable'Vader in the address section. Cue endless amounts of random non craghoppers junk mail addressed to.....The Right Honorable Vader.

Good luck getting out of that one! The fact that the latest Facebook post is from Christmas saying phones are busy and when you try to ring now 9 months later a recorded message says sorry too busy and cuts you off sums up their customer service. I've switched and they're currently trying to claim they still supply me gas only and want to charge me a second time at their higher rates!
Special circle of hell for all those condemned to work in their 'customer service' departments, poor buggers. NB doesn't surprise me that British Gas are no better.

Another vote for Triton Cycles.

Currently in don’t answer the phone/emails limbo on an order still showing ‘In Stock’.

We have progressed from ‘Payment Received’ to ‘In Picking’ but 5 days to pick a bolt off a shelf seems excessive.

SGS Engineering.
Shower of shite , frequently taking payment for stuff that is out of stock, even though their website is showing availability.
Then cancelling part of your order and sending a part of it which is totally useless without the other 2 parts.

Winkers

Evans Cycles are crap to use, purely because most of what they sell isn't on the website. Then if it is you have to pay an extra £5 for the privilege of going to the shop and picking it up. Obviously that's if the stock file is correct which it usually isn't. But they are not the worst

The honour of worst to navigate goes jointly to the FA and Wembley Park's parking sites. Finding how to book tickets to the England v Hungary match next month was a bloody nightmare. It's like navigating a maze blindfolded, drunk, stoned and with a concussion. Funnily enough I think it was designed by someone in the same condition. Getting through the Wembley parking booking site was just as bad, only the concussed, drunk, stoned designer was obviously writing the code with his forehead. Doing both of these things took me nearly an hour. It's almost like a test to see if you deserve to watch England.

Does British Gas and BT count as online? Can’t think of a worse company to deal with.

On the very rare occasion I’ve had a problem with my BT broadband it’s been sorted out without any issues, and I have a maintenance contract with British Gas for service and breakdowns, so when my boiler went just before Christmas last year, because there were so many calls for breakdowns they gave me a bunch of fan heaters, discovered my hot water tank had an immersion heater built in so we had hot water, and arranged for an engineer to come and install a new combi boiler, a new radiator in the lounge and rip out all of the old stuff, without too much of a delay. When I contacted a local heating company for a quote, they couldn’t even be bothered to respond to my request.
