So you apply for tickets, you wait and get nothing.
So then you book the family holiday and guess what?
Yesterday I get a mens road race ticket for Box Hill.
Now I can't go.

You utter useless bunch of twerps, thank you very much the Olympic ticket people.

So you apply for tickets and get none.
You then book a family holiday.
You then go and buy a ticket for the race knowing you are on holiday?

Or have I read that wrong?

Sort of.
I don't get many days holiday, so I booked the date so I could go if I got a ticket.
Got no tickets.
Couldn't change holidays date and was running out of time to get a holiday for the family booked on that date.
Just in my case I felt like I'd hung on enough.
The ticket was one of four a mate was 'given'
Would have been nice if they just gave out what was available first time round.

Edit; see my next post for more muppetry.

Sounds like fairly normal behaviour for a ticketed event. They can't control what's done with them after they are sold or allocated.

These are from the 'more to be issued batch' Some people that didn't get them first time round are being offered them a second time. I'e they were available when I asked first time, but they were held back for some reason.

Never mind, I'm sure it's easy for folks to get time off and book travel and accommodation in London at short notice just prior to the Olympics.

Actually the answer is YES,

Well to the travel and accomadation bit any way, I have had the 2 weeks leave booked since January.

This weekend ( Sunday ) I got round to booking the travel and accomadation and got good deals on both.

train from Harrogate to London = £35 return including booking fees

Single en suite room opposite Baker Street tube station 3 nights at £60 a night
