I'm not sure I'd want this guitar - a bit too much gold for my tastes - but my god the work that has gone into it is impressive.

That looks beautiful and a fascinating video. Thanks.

I thought it looked better than it sounded, though.

His guitars always sound shit in his vids because as he admits he doesn't mic' them up properly. His Telecaster sounded horribly jangly too but it no doubt sounds ace in real life. You can't make excellent pickups driving a quality amp sound that bad if you try.

His workmanship is impressive but I can't see the point when you can buy parts from say Warmoth which only require a bit of finishing and screwing together. Even that's quite satisfying, you can correct the things you don't like on stock guitars such as the over-rounded fret ends on many Fenders that mean the e-strings roll off doing vibrato.

That is an awesome looking guitar : )

I wonder how much it will get played in the next 50 years. Surely it will go to a collector, rather than someone who will just play one guitar for a living each night?

It does seem like we like a good guitar build vid in this place so here is another.ย  The 'built from a shelf' title is a little bit misleading but the work is incredible.ย  He also has a set of tools and skills a little bit beyond most of us

enjoy

oh, and patience.ย  Bucketloads of it
