MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
In the back of our garden is about an 8-9ft wall holding back the gardens of the next street. It's made of interlocking wood and appears to be back filled with some stones and some dirt.
The father of the girl next door is covering it up by nailing fence featherboard onto it. Surely this will prevent it drying out and ultimately lead to it rotting prematurely?
Depends how much sun it gets. If it has the sun all day then probably wont be an issue but would depend on what treatment it has and how thick it is.
I'd be inclined to cover it with something less robust and more likely to let the air get to it, I would guess it wont be a cheap job to replace it.
It'll rot at the bit in the ground first anyway - shirley
Its going to fail sooner or later unless its old railway sleeper type preserved (and even those go eventually).
I'm worried about it tbh. Thinking we'd better move as soon as we can.
Just bolt something metal to it - an iMac, perhaps??
Rachel
That's probably where it'd land if I threw it out of the window tbh.
The father of the girl next door
Hold up.
What's this about the girl next door?
What's this about the girl next door?
Does she like Macs?
No, only men in macs.
Permacrib is described as having a "desired lifespan of 60 years".
So when you come to sell a home in 30-40 years the potential buyers are certainly going to be put off by it.
I absolutely wouldn't screw panels to it as airflow is vital.
