Add to the list of flooring questions here, and hopefully not repeating:

Ultimately I want an oiled finish.
I can buy unfinished and a bottle of my favoured oil, or "uv oiled".
Pre-oiled would be convenient, but I'm concerned that since I won't be able to touch up or re-finish with the same oil, I'm going to run into issues. Ive asked the supplier what oil they use but they simply say "maintenance is not required". I'm not buying that.

got to oil is OSMO UK - Polyx®-Oil Original Hard Wax Oil.

Tough as hell (I honestly dont understand how an oil can be so durable on the stairs).

I think resident floor-wallah will confirm but he's swanning about in his continental villa right now.

I cant see a problem with a coat of Osmo on top of pre-oiled flooring.

Actually I think I did two coats. It went on really easily.

Ah that would be great if I can just top up with the osmo later.

I bought unfinished and sealed with Osmo so I could (in theory) sand and reseal in case of remedial fixes needing doing.

Don't, repeat *DO NOT* attempt to seal with Osmo UV sealant with PolyX on top - I was recommended this (after checking with the Osmo rep via the flooring company) and it didn't dry – they had to come back, rip it all up and refit new boards at their cost!

No. No maintenance is required! Any scratches will be less visible than
with a laquered finish, and they all add to the patina. If you're a bit OCDC just wipe any marks with an oily rag.
