Trescothick is known for suffering, he doesn't appear to have been the architect of his own downfall. By all accounts he is a decent bloke, was a pivotal member of the England team, instrumental in challenging some of the old ways and helping England on the path to their recent success. Played for one club where he is a favourite with staff and fans alike. Very few dissenting voices throughout his career.

Gav on the other hand has a far more chequered past, more like Peiterson who the Saffas nicknamed FIGJAM appropriately!

Just googled figjam and thats appropriate and what makes me think Henson is a bit, well nuts. He has incredible faith and arrogance in his rugby talent and yet is so insecure painfully so at times.

Well two grand slams and a lions test cap aint a bad return, he's also been injured a lot. Did Marcus Trescothic waste his talent too?

That's a poor return for his talent given the quality around him for Wales over what should have been a decent length career, too much celeb nonsense, strictly come dancing and running his mouth off. I was in the stadium when he kicked the winning penalty for Wales against England, he should have many more stories like that to tell.

And, why the effing flip are the Beeb showing Celebrity Antiques Masterchef on Ice or whatever instead of the rugby? Seriously?

AA - he may have but is not honest enough with himself to admit them maybe?

Too wrapped up in himself, which is how I imagine a lot of 'celebs' are. Surround themselves with people who say yes and just inflate their egos, rather than tell it like it is.

Rugby has a fair few who tell it straight and I suspect that that is one of the reasons Gav has had a few clubs as management haven't tolerated his behaviour. He may be waking up to that now but too late to fulfil his ability.

If you want to use Trescothick as an example he was destined to be a good county cricketer, but got a taste for international cricket and decided he wanted more. Worked hard to make the most of his ability.

He may have admitted it to himself and many other people just not us.

running his mouth off

examples? other than saying what he thinks about rugby and saying he thinks he's a very good player I've never heard him say much about the opposition. Certainly not like the crap some england players have come out with. I think you are letting your views about his celeb shite colour your views.

He has only just admitted then because until recently he was on the club merry go round. Too late to fulfil his international career.

I do, he screwed up his chance with Toulon (edit: running mouth off example) and now he's plying his trade with the might of London Welsh if I'm not mistaken

There's lovely for you!

North's pace in backing up was incredible! For a big guy, he really moves at speed!

So that's going to be 6 loses in a row for Wales.

What has gone wrong, I figured them as a possibility for the next World Cup, not after that shambles.

Grand Slam to wooden spoon? On the evidence of the last two performances that is not inconceivable 🙁

What must be worrying for Wales is aside from an interception they didn't look like scoring. And if Samoa could kick their chances it would have been a big defeat.

Wales have a big imposing set of backs, some good loose forwards but they were nowhere to be seen.

Halfpenny is a quality player though.
Wasn't convinced of the swinging arm, more of a worry for me is the lack of arms used in tackles these days. Yes he caught him, Halfpenny was going low too so seemed worse, but was the defender just making a wrap tackle? Some of the hits these days are just that with no attempt to use arms which I feel are far more likely to cause injury.
