We've got a Nintendo Wii in the kitchen / dining room at work, with one game (Sports Resort) for it.

I was toying with the idea of hooking it up to the Internet to see what I could do with it. This is non-trivial due to the cabling being hard-wired into the wall and the kitchen not having any Ethernet points. So I'd have to either 1) bring in my Gamecube cabling and move the Wii to another room with a TV temporarily, or b) set up ICS over WiFi on my laptop.

Question is, is it worth the hassle? Is there value to me whacking the console online for an hour or two and then taking it offline again? Ie, are there free games or other $stuff I can download for it?

We set our wii up with the wifi and do use it but pretty much just for iPlayer. To be fair we do use it quite regularly for this if we forget to record stuff on the PVR

You can get all the iPlayer stuff. We have our on the wireless network but don't really use if for any on-line stuff. Not sure I have any on-line games or if there are many around, that's what my PS3 is for 😉

Top console though, especially when you have friends around.

There's a new version of the bannerbomb hack, which you can probably find at WiiBrew, either way, run that, stick the homebrew channel on a SD card, then you can run anything from WiiBrew, the most useful i find are media players, it can pick up NAS drives and file servers, along with playing dvd's.
