Thinking of getting a couple of these so what do people suggest?
Needs to be Wifi , Mac OS X compatible and have an iOS app for remote viewing.
I had a DLink 942L that was excellent and ticked all those boxes.
do you mean a wired system to send to a iphone?
I have one of these (actually the non HD version of it).
Ticks all your boxes - works really well.
Nick
No Ton, a wireless camera connected to my home WiFi network which I can connect to from an iPad and/or an iPhone
Whats the most cost effective way of getting something like the 2 cams listed to auto trigger and send a video file off site if activated?
EDIT: looks like the Amazon one does - any more experience?
@iamsporticus - that exactly what the Home Monitor one does (Amazon link above). You can set it up to send notifications straight to your phone via the app and/or email when motion is detected. Has a night mode too so works ok in the dark.
Are people using recording software?
I have a Y-cam, but an outdoor one, works well with the Cammy app, I did have a Foscam that was set up to send email alerts on movement (sensitivity adjustable) but it gets very boring having a 1000+ emails a day when it rains.
HTH.
The D Link records to itself and sends snaps via email if required.
I used to have it recording to my NAS.
Thanks for the suggestions
Just remember to change the password or you'll end up here shodan
I got some from HERE which you can monitor from your iPhone/iPad/anything with Internet access.
Also you can connect externally using the IP address or dynamic IP if yours isn't static.
