I ended up ahvin to get the computer out of my office to work at home. It didnt have wifi so I bought a little netgear dongle. It keeps seeming to drop out; saying it is connected but no internet. Does anyone know if the ones with antenna are any better in this case? e.g https://www.amazon.co.uk/WiFi-Adapter-1900Mbps-Long-Range/dp/B08912S5H7?ref_=ast_slp_dp

I'm upstairs, router is downstairs. Other computer in same room but with built in wifi never has issues with wifi connection

Plug your dongle into a USB extension cable. Then can move it around to see if gets a better signal.

That or get some powerline adapters, makes things much easier.

Good call @CraigW, I put it in a USB extension and taped it a bit higher up and I've not had anything like the same amount of drop outs.
