Why don't they make whitewall tyres anymore? Considering the re-emergence of skinwall tyres for bicycles (which I LOVE, btw), I would have thought that people's automotive tastes might have run a similar course.
I know that some will say they were a nightmare to keep clean, but really... in this day and age, with all the detergents and chemicals we can use on our cars, I can't imagine that this would be a serious problem.

Those Pirelli's are really just go-faster stripes, not a proper white-wall, though.
Just to be dull - presumably because most modern cars have such low profile tyres there's hardly any sidewall there to be white?
