When linking you tube vids?
Linking to where?
This thread
But you can.
Can what? Click the link? Is this also a result of making the forum "better" ?
Yup, no video showing for me either. Oooh maybe its related to the fact the forum forgets me! Coincidence?
Same prob here too (android nougat). I can click through with the link, but you can't see the title or an image of the video in the thread. And they call this progress!! Lol 😉
What are others using to view?
I'm on the latest iOS on an iPad Pro using Safari, works for me.
It's possibly a long story about Flash and HTML 5, that begins with Steve Jobs.
Android on s7. Update awaiting to be installed.
Using Chrome?
works fine on my S7 (no update) using chrome
No, just the usual Internet widget as pre installed on the phone.
I'm not sure what it uses I thought it was Chrome?
No, don't think it's chrome. However I'm no IT guru but I'm sure chrome is available but looks totally different.
Works perfectly fine here
Ah could be just some generic thing built into Android.

I've never used the built in Android browser but have just tried it and works fine in that for me too.
Cheers.
Cheers Bruneep.
I see a pattern forming.
I'll wager it's nothing to do with STW, but rather Flash being quietly deprecated by browser manufacturers.
And about time too.
Ah it's a result of Samsung making things better.

Mine is a Samsung (S6) but running Android 6
Linky works fine for me on STW. Firefox here.
Oh ya ... have you checked your browser ad blocker or something coz they will block youbetu sometimes.
You tube vids, you tube vids everywhere!!!

Cleantube.
The default YouTube plugin is Flash based. As noted above, Flash is now deprecated which means that no work will be done to support it. Chrome and Firefox (not sure about Safari or IE) display the "This plugin is no longer supported" message.
If you enable it you are usually given the option of the current video or for the site as a whole. I suspect that those who are having no problems seeing the embedded video have at some time chose the latter.

Even Adobe are no longer supporting Flash, mobile Flash has never really worked properly anyway, and it's really only a mater of time before its quietly euthanised and given a private burial in a paupers grave somewhere out in the boondocks where it belongs.
All working fine here on my iPhone so sounds like it might be Android browsers pulling the plug.
Chrome on my Samsung and it all works perfectly.
