I was 26 yrs old.
I was drinking, falling in love every other weekend and can't actually remember what I was listening to.
Sorry.
1993, somewhere in this crowd at Glastonbury. Verve were one of my favourite bands at the time, but at some point into the Jamiroquai set I decided I really needed to take my jumper back to my tent. Meant I missed all but the last song from Verve:
Also at that Glastonbury... Rolf Harris... at which point the silver surfers kicked in.
does it have to be 1993?
I had a GT Performer.
I worked a night shift where the radio was stuck on Atlantic 252. Scorpions Wind of Change several times per shift.
Best gig was Green Day at Wigan Cricketers. Wat Tyler supporting.
1988/9?
Falcon Sherpa - wearing a purple paisley blouse (gulp)
🙂
BCM Majorca summer of 93,
Invited to dance in the podiums with the girls, I bottled it and went back home to work in a restaurant, what a bell end!
Can't help with the song but 93 was when I got my first good mtb. A diamond back acent with lx group set
1993? It had to be my (piece of shit) GT "All Terra" Tundra (before it got stolen), and this song:
1993? I have no recollection of any music during the 90s ...
I can only remember The Carpenters during my holiday to visit my grandma on an Island long time ago ... life was good then.
The KLF
Riding a 92 Stumpy I bought from a mate on credit. Eventually got nicked. Listening to Faith No More alot at the time.

Concurrent issues (ie my 'best bike' happened along in the worst (last) year)
I'll have to go back to the wayback when I remember being happiest with both:
1990
Dawes Tracker (Reynolds 500, Exage, Biopace, Deore Thumbies, indestructible)
'This Is The Sea' (The Waterboys)
It was 1993, I was riding a Kona Expolsif
I only had a Lava Dome. Got it in 1989, still have it, still riding it.
It was 1997, I was working in Washington DC, riding an Answer Manitou FS Singleshock and the Chemical Brothers had just released Dig Your Own Hole.
It was 1996, I was riding a Univega Rover up the side of Ingleborough every day of the summer to do field work, listening to the Long Pigs.
1998. Santa Cruz heckler, living in Sheffield and riding at Bolehills and listening to a mixture of Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and Death in Vegas.
Year-1996 (April to be precise)
Kona Kilauea (courtesy of Leisure Lakes cheque spread)
Oasis Wonderwall
1993
Cannondale M600. In hindsight it was pretty shit. Very light but bounced around like a made thing. Way too rigid.
I always thought the lyrics:
"You've got dust in your eyeballs, you got mud in your mouth
But it's your head, it ain't mine
I've got a madman of my own to contend with
Cursing in the cave of my skull"
summed up how I felt when riding it quite wel..
1993, Orange Clockwork (my first mountain bike) riding around Warsash and Southampton area whilst at nautical college.
1998
Salsa Ala Carte
Breathe.
in 93 i was riding a 92 alpinestars cro mega LX.
This was in the cassette player
1993 - riding a replica of Jean-Christophe Savignoni's Giant CFM (except the string back wheel), singing l'Amour à la Machine by Alain Souchon.
1993, purple Kona Lava Dome running slicks, Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works
There is no best year, time flows, but 1993:
Ridgeback something (with Jackson pollock splatter paint and bright yellow detail)
Poor quality hardcore/d&b mixes on c60''s
Forgot the rest. Bike was carrera zelos, hydraulic rim brakes. great bike for student.
Erm... the years I was most happy or the music was really good don't tie well with when I was riding...
The closest match I could find...
2006
I was riding Spesh Enduro which was a ****ing monster of a bike compared to most at the time.
I'd spent the previous 6 years being Mr Sensible Finance Broker and frankly wasting my early 20's but I was having another dig at being young again.
Listening to "What you wating for".
1993 was around when I got a Raleigh Max Cromo, loved that thing. It ended up tarted it with big red riser bars, Smoke/Dart tyres and a Daves Chain Device.
Not sure music wise, something like:
Maybe.
'93 was Dawes Kickback and Smells Like Teen Spirit - both life-changing, in their way.
1993
Trek 850 (white)/ carrera Krakatoa (black and yellow splatter)
New fads
Uf orb
Aphex twin in a brown paper sleeve...hadn't the faintest idea what speed it was meant to be played at:)
Orbitals 'brown' album
Hypnolovewheels 'space mountain'
