Popped in to ask the price of a house up for sale & she gave me a strange look. Dunno why, I don't think I looked odd or strange. I was wearing shorts & T shirt & carrying one cycling shoe, an allen key & half a turnip. ❓
half a turnip
Well, she didn't treat you like a Swede.
Its the shorts and T-shirt ,hardly summer is it.
I regularly pop out with a bag of sweet potatoe's and a fishing rod no bats a eyelid round here.

that's why, and its Friday afternoon, your timing is atrocious 🙂
Only half a turnip see, school boy error 🙄
It's to go with my haggis tonight.
Maybe she thought that as you clearly couldn't afford a whole turnip, then the price of the house was irrelevant
It's cos the price of the house was on the picture in the window, & she thought you couldn't read.

It wasn't.
I'm going in with the other shoe, a different sized allen key & a whole turnip next week, see if she notices. 🙂
What size Allen key?
Bet it was a 5mm
She's a vegetarian. She fancies you.
Was the turnip shaped like a thingy? That could have been it... 😆

I wish. Maybe I should've said 'why did the foxy young lady in the estate agents...'
There's a clue in the allen key size, 'one cycling shoe'
Anyway I've eaten half of the half turnip with the haggis a some mash. 😆
That's making me hungry! 🙂
...an allen key...
Perhaps you inadvertently put her in a hex..?
I'd expect my estate agent to flounce all over a potential buyer no matter what kind of root vegetable they were packing, Thei utter contempt and gruffness should rightly be reserved for their actual clients.

Pretty normal work wear for a bus mechanic in worcestershire , i would have thought

About right, having had to deal with a few over the past few months.
