Its ageist! Because that many posts would have meant life effectively beginning at... the start of the second page.

So they've gone for 35, and the middle yoof market in an attempt to steal MBUK's readership

Fewer posts per page = more pages
More pages = more page hits
More page hits = more advertising revenue

The disappearing post bug seems to be connected to deleted posts so I'd imagine that somewhere, the site's code doesn't account for the deleted posts affecting the reply count.

Cant say I have ever noticed a disappearing 41st post bug. Whats that all about then?

On threads where people have had posts deleted, if you post say the 41st post (eg the first post of a new page) it doesn't appear until the number of posts goes up to match the number of deleted posts (well that's my theory) - eg until someone posts the 43rd reply, you don't see a second page (numbers based on the old 40 post pages)
