would have to be these guys.

[img] [/img] alex lifeson (rush)

[img] [/img] steve rothery (marillion)

[img] [/img] trent reznor (nine inch nails)

i am a huge fan of textural dreamy guitar playing that both alex lifeson and steve rothery do so well (have yet to try and learn any marillion),but can attempt a few rush tunes 😉

trent reznor though is a musical genius as far as i'm concerned (and the downward spiral is my favorite album of anyone 🙂

Greetings fellow insomniacs. It sucks doesn't it?

I also like Lifeson's style and sound
Am into Gabriella from roderigo and gabriella at the moment
I also really rate Sarah Allen formally of Flook for her percussive flute style

It sure is. I know what you mean about their earlier stuff. I love listening to him talk and sing. A genuinely interesting and crazy living fella.

Only 3! That's a toughie!

Jimmy Page
Jack White

( I could add lots more to this of artists who have stayed on my listening lists for years, but that wouldn't be a top 3 🙂 )

I'd agree on Lifeson and Bonamassa, both are such glorious guitarists.

I reckon I'd add in a singer as well - Danny Bowes. OK, so we all know Danny can't dance, but what a voice!

I'd struggle with just 3! Any 3 from Hendrix, SRV, Jaco Pastorius, Frusciante, Geddy Lee, Pat Metheny.

Randy Rhoads - guitarist (RIP)
Brann Dailor (Mastodon)- Can I include a drummer?
Dwayne Allman - guitarist

There are many others I could include - such as Thomas Haake, Adrian Smith, Neil Peart, Geddy Lee, Eddie Van Halen, Scott Kelly, Dwayne Allman - but this is off the top of my right.
