Stripped the bird of all the good meat chucked the carcass a bit of stuffing, 2 cut onions, 2 sticks of celery, good pint of red wine & 2 litres of water into the big stock pan and left gently bubbling away for 4 hours.
House did smell nice & I have a good 2 litres of stock for risottos ๐Ÿ˜€

Did mine with some leftover veg, leftover roasted onion and garlic, bay leaves, dried herbs and salt. I got a lot of meat fragments which, after removing all the small bones and bits, I put back in before freezing. It will make some tasty soup I hope.

A nice Turkey supreme last night and tonight there is a turkey and bacon pie in the oven! Curry tomorrow I think! We don't normally have Turkey at Xmas, but this one doesn't seem to want to go!

Used my first batch of turkey stock to make a cock-leekie-bacony soup. Very filling and appropriate for the cold weather I think.
