Well as someone who can't stand football & couldn't give a toss if England get knocked out at the first hurdle....I want Portugal to win cos I drew them in the sweep at work.
& no, I don't have a flag hanging off the car, it would affect my mpg.

I'd rather shave my eyeballs and then use daves insanity sauce as for eyewash than have an england flag on the car. They are useful though as it enables you to spot people that drive like knobends, the more flags, the more dangerous they are as general rule of thumb

I've bought four Consumer Units for work (I'm an electrician), they all come with support England emblazoned t-shirts.
Three things, I can't abide football, I'm not close with anyone who likes football and I'm not English. What's the polite thing to do?

You and me both only I am English but that makes not one jot of difference I see the ELECSA & Wylex seem to be pushing it

And the comment above is out of order big style

Two on the car, two on the works van and a couple hanging out of the windows at home. Think that about covers it

And what's with all the England flags on Audis, Renaults and Fiats ?

Patriotism is for life, not just for a football game.

I'm with militantgraham, Why are people showing off their patriotism by hanging their england flags off their Hyundais and Chevrolets?

IF you're going to be a full time patriot then please at least start out by supporting our economy.

Saying that I drive a French car,a French van and have a French house, with a very French mortgage!

What cars would you put them on ?

Ford ..American
Vauxhall.. are they still American?

Caterham maybe but it's got no window to stick the flag in!!

Patriotism is for life, not just for a football game.

so, all woolen clothing, no spuds, tomatoes, bananas, oranges, garlic, curry, olives, cornflakes, wine, snogging (French kissing) ??

I think you're confusing patriotism with isolationism.

[rant] does anyone actually think England have even the slightest chance of winning?

Not into football, but I used to support England and quite liked the world cup. But with a team made up mainly of absolute tossers who just think they can do anything they want and everyone will still worship them, I'd really rather support some non-league hockey team made up of people who make sacrifices for their sport rather than just expect the world on a plate. Wayne rooney is a dreadful roll model for young lads and the likes of ashley cole...etc etc [/rant]

I don't need to, its a Land Rover.

Indian owned now but still built by Brummies.

Plus I loathe footy and I'm more assorted celtic than English.

Papa Laz . So what has Rooney done to make himself a bad role model for young lads ?

I'm finding myself less interested in the World Cup and the obscenely over-paid England team this time.

It may be something to do with having no respect for a bunch of lads who are seen as heroes for kicking a ball about.

I don't have a St George Flag.

Got the flags, not put them on the car yet.

Still have to dig out the flags to hang out the house windows, will probably do that tomorrow!

I'm English, but I have zero interest in wendyball, and there is a better chance of Satan hosting the Winter Olymics than there is of my Skoda having some stupid flags attached to the windows.

Take your pick of the British teams that qualified then.

I have one, because of a tearful 5 year old approaching me the other day begging me to put it on because he wanted "to see it flutter".

I hate car flags but I do love my son. 🙁

Problem solved for me - work have told us we cannot put them on company vehicles, even on cars at weekends. 🙂 Not that i wanted too.

Funniest part about the email was my 'Scottish' (born and raised in england) colleague who then got upset as she might have to take her ecosse stickers off her car. Was worth it just for that.

In Ireland? I might just as well hung myself 😀
It's good enough to ride an On-One with Hope brakes, wear an On-One SS jersey, Howies jeans (for the locals anybody across The Irish Sea is English anyway), London Pride drink bottle and Iron Maiden/DIO on the stereo. Gives them creeps.

Absolutely no way. They look gash and they're a distraction / hazard to other road users (most of whom are half asleep anyway).

The only benefit is it points out the biggest knobbers on the roads during World Cup time.

As for England flags across rear / passenger windows - how is that better than being able to see other vehicles and pedestrians. 👿

Chav flags...

I've found a fairly strong correlation between people who have flags on their cars and people I find irritating (with some notable exceptions).

Well as long as they irritate petty judgemental people, that's the main issue.

I see I'm going to have to get myself a couple 8)

Where's best ...... Tesco ?

I hate the lower classes too. They really don't know how to enjoy themselves, show kinship or engender a combined sense of joy.

The best way to do that is to create divisions in society by mocking anything that is "chav" with like-minded friends.

That'll make a better future for our children.
