Saw one flying over Whitehall about an hour and a half ago. Anyone know who's it is?

There's two at Farnborough air show at the moment both US marine flown.

i got within a few metres of a running one in Bagdad.

They are incredibly noisy as well. They tend to only fly them at night here which is a pain. They do seem to spend a fair amount of time with the panels off being fixed though.

They'd let you jump in the back at Farnborough. One was static and the other in the arial display. Tidy RR engines to.

They're fantastic looking aircraft, I love them, but they do have a rep for being hanger queens.

Did some of the stress work on the fuel system on those and managed to wander through one with my kids at RIAT last weekend - fantastic beasts 🙂

Both engines are linked by a common drive shaft by the way. Incredibly complex layout to avoid serious issues if an engine goes out.

Hope they didn't fly over the olympic village, they could find a lock on from a heat seeking missile!

And then you can land, fold it up and stuff it in your pocket.

No wonder they're maintenance heavy.
