holy crap! That's MY footbridge, in a manner of speaking. Let me go and find out what happened....

As for value, mixed metal was paying 16.5p/Kg at my local scrappies two weeks ago.

I guess if it's worth something, someone will be prepared to nick it and someone else will be prepared to buy it from them. Once it's melted down there isn't much chance of tracing it.

well, its the last of five of them by the look of it. The smallest I think.
Half-inched from the subby's yard. Theiving bastards.

Supposed to go on the third floor where that crane tower is on the RHS I think:

Maybe someone just borrowed it. Kinda like a bridging loan...

Its amazing what gets stolen. I can remember driving to a windfarm construction site in SE Scotland to find that a metal bridge on the access road had been stolen overnight, stopping all access to the site till a temporary bridge was brought in.

Someone nicked the copper cables from 2 tower cranes on one of my sites just after Christmas. Cost about £3k to replace them

One from the office:

If they catch the guy he'll probably only get a suspended sentance...

Not entirely related to bridges, but some local scallies stole a load of big old stone roof slates from the water company sheds next door to our house once. They carried them about a third of a mile, up 200+ stone steps, and 150 feet up to the road - we know this because they left about half of them on the pavement. If you're going to go to that much effort, you might as well just get a sodding job...

Maybe it was nicked by one of the trolls on here looking for an upgrade?

The steel bridge measuring 3ft 6in (1.06m) wide is worth about £25,000 and had been on the back of a trailer.

Confusing 'cost' with 'worth'...
