As above, can anyone recommend some preferably free or open source video editing software which can be used easily by dummies with no prior experience. Just something simple which allows you to cut/put together clips, layer over music and some text. Ta.

I'm guessing you're not on a Mac but iMovie is pretty good (or at least it was, not really used the latest version). Windows Movie Maker would probably do as well I imagine.

The Win 7 Movie Maker is better than the old one but thats not hard, It's still a PITA compared to proper video editing software. Took me 4x as long to do stuff compared to Adobe etc.
