well, I still can't deicide, should I go for the frame based construction with eyebrow controlled articulated limbs or should I stick to the lighter and proven lycra and pulleys? (treadmill suitability is a must)

Must it be a spider? I'd have thought fewer legs would help with treadmill compatibility - suggest a housefly...?

Take the kidnapping> organ-harvesting> limb and eye grafting route. Its expensive and time consuming but it pays in the long run.
