a friend of mine managed to leave his helmet halfway up afan whites climb (rear end charley), it can happen to the best of us is all I'd say, he was nearly at the top before he realised... luckily some-one had spotted it and brought it with them, so he didn't need to go back that far..

Maybe they like to take the helmet off for the ride up then stick it on for the ride down. I used to do that on the fireroad climb at Glentress.

Yeah I do this all the time but you'd think you might notice on the way down.

I was walking up to a high-ish mountain pass in the Pyrenees between France and Spain. Walking back down the other way (very gingerly and slowly) was a Japanese guy with no shoes on (and no bag or anything). How do you end up in that scenario?

If Newcastle is anything to go by then he must have been out in ridiculous high heels, which he then threw away after too many blue WKDs.

My guess - he'd had an argument with wife/girlfriend. Usually the reason for ending up in a higly embarrassing state...
