Real difficult to sell motorbikes at the moment, i've just done a p/x on my Fazer 1000 and MT01 as nobody was interested in buying them privatley.

One guy did phone following my 6 week advert with MCN.

Are you looking for a straight sell or are you looking at another bike?

ebay is full of dreamers, but I've done some good deals using it as an ad space rather than sales. Do you have the local Loot/FreeAds/AdTrader paper in your area? Still a good place to sell.
gixer.john, MT01 = I want one. Test rode one but the shop wouldn't do me a good price so I bought a Hayabusa instead.

Dundee Bikers Forum given you're in Arbroath / Stonehaven.

I've used Ebay 3 times now to sell a bike and always got a good price.

I put them on as an auction but ended them early once someone had paid a deposit. I said that the bike was no longer available when ending the auction, rather than showing that it had sold to save on the fee's.

If it's been well looked after, you shouldn't have much problem selling a VFR.

I've had 3 VFR's over the years and think they're fantastic bikes; especially the pre-vtec version.

Shedbrewed - MT01's can be had at a reasonable price 2nd hand.
Mines was absolutley mint - 4 years old, 2500miles, Yamaha speedblock / kenny roberts yellow paint scheme (only one in the UK),meta alarm, RAASK end cans, pipercross air filter, fenda extenda, tribo seat cover - dealers were offering me £3500 - 4000 for it.
That's why i had to do a p/x on it, to try and get a few quid more.

One important point when advertsing is to take lots of good quality pictures. You can then e-mail them to anyone interested.

Take pictures of stuff like:

Close up of front and rear wheels / tyres.
Close up of front forks, both sides.
Close up of both sides of fairing.
Close up of engine casings.
Close up of shock and linkage.
Close up of both sides of fuel tank etc etc etc....

Also now the chilly weather has started to set in, some motorbike dealers have cheap winter servicing offers.

If it's been a good few months / miles since the bike was last serviced, it might be worth while getting it done just prior to selling to make it more attractive to the purchaser.
