Me and my partner plus our 22 month old daughter.
In the UK
self catering preferably
by the sea
not shit and chavvy
no need for biking
scenery is a must
as is a pub
Some of the National trust cottages by the Ty Coch Inn, near Nefyn in North Wales. Unbeatable.

Mevagissey, Cornwall
Tenby, Wales
Scarborough/Whitby - N Yorkshire
The Sloop at Bantham
Anywhere around Bamburgh Castle apart from Seahouses (Which is a dump)
Pembrokeshire, stunning.
Avoid west wales imho- had to drive miles for a bakery, lots of boarded up pubs. Tenby was okayish but I would imagine it gets a bit boisterous at night given the amount of cctv cameras in the town?
it's been a while since I was there. I was a teenager. I'm 46 tomorrow
Never been, but the Gower Peninsula is supposed to be very nice.
Bude-cornwall.
Abersoch in Wales...is very nice 😉
not cornwall as that is the usual
You need somewhere with farm parks at that age - cute animals etc. From our own experience:
Northumberland - awesome place
Dumfries and Galloway - just coincidence that it is near the Stanes
North Yorkshire - trains, beaches, York, farm parks and Dalby if you need an escape.
Our kids are now 7 and 4 and we still find a self catering farm cottage at Easter - lambing season - pretty much provides all the entertainment they need on the doorstep.
North Yorkshire - trains
if it's the end of april, the north yorkshire moors railway have a steam train extravaganza (google nymr). great fun, loads of colur, steam trains. nor sure if t's 22 month old territory though. there's a host of things to do in the area
+1 Gower Peninsula
West Lulworth, Dorset.
Or Abbottsbury again in Dorset for a wonderfully beautiful village.
any recommendations on where to stay sharki?
R_R if it helps I've found some very reasonable prices here >> owners direct website you can search by county/region, i'd have a look.
I've just booked a cottage in the Cotswolds for our hols in August.
not shit and chavvy
Damn, that's all my favourite holiday spots out then.
Beadnell, Northumbria?
Not right now i don't but i'll make some inqueeries 🙂
Porlock, not a sandy beach though.
Lleyn Peninsula, Aberdaron, Abersoch, Nefyn, (parts of) Pwllheli, Criccieth, Port Meirion, Harlech should all be chav free.
St Davids, Pembrokeshire -
Lleyn Peninsula seconded, however go all the way to the end. Gower is good too, but avoid the village north of Rhossilli as that may be chavvy / young surf dudey. About 3-4 hours driving.
Pembrokeshire around Tenby has loads of wet weather alternatives for kids but Tenby itself may be a bit chavvy, but its nice in the off season. Its at least 6 hours driving mind.
Elan valley is very nice or around the Berwyns, I've always headed North or South recently so a trip to mid Wales and around was good.
