I think there is no single "European" sizing for trousers. Different countries (or groups of countries) use different systems.

46 FFS you mean 36 surely... A french 36 trousers is a 29" UK/US one.
It is for an italian friend...he says he is a size 46, and he is only a skinny fella.
He wants to buy some shorts from CRC but they are listed in UK size..
