MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I remember boiling my brain on this issue when I was far too young to wear trousers to school, at a different level obviously. There was never any danger of me becoming the next big brained Briton.
It seems there are many universe(s?) and indeed even if there is just one, it is apparently expanding at an alarming rate. So if there are many, or even just one, what's out side it? Does that seem plausible? Why don't we see really big faces squashed up against the glass on the outside, looking in? Is there a finite amount of space outside our space?
My head hurts
I posed a similar question to the STW massive a while back.
Apparently, the answer lies in the mobius strip - but a four dimensional one, of course.
Now I'm no physicist, but that seems to answer things nicely. 😯
Hope that helps.

Is this a thinly veiled snow update thread?
It seems there are many universe(s?)
I think that's just a fanciful notion.
As for what's outside? Why does there need to be an outside?
Why does there need to be an outside?
Because there's an inside.
So why do you think that there's always an outside to an inside?
what fascinates me the most is "scale" makes no difference to the maths.
also why is this page broken ? 😕
If there's no outside, and therefore nothing to expand into. Does this mean we could actually be shrinking in order to make space for the expanding bits?
Someone's gone and Hawkinsed the thread. 😕

Camo16 is no programmer either he used the wrong code for the link.

Just because there's no outside doesn't mean it can't expand. In the same way that we can grow our economy without actually printing more banknotes (usually anyway).
You really do need to stop trying to visualise this in everyday terms!

Cut >>>> Quick.
😳
What's the right code then?
So why do you think that there's always an outside to an inside?
Inside makes no sense without outside. It's all yin and yang, baby.
Inside makes no sense without outside
You're gonna need to back that up.
Common sense doesn't apply here, because to us humans, common sense is limited to the small scale macroscopic world in three dimensions only.

You see, I don't beleive in all the crap that we're told about economy's either, although i beleive the science stuff more, if we lost loads of made up numbers and the economy went rubbish just make some more numbers up and it'll all be fine! Just need everyone to agree which numbers to make up. None of it really exists, it's all just polotics...........
polotics
Is that a side effect of an allergy to mints?

If there's an inside, there's an outside. In order for there not to be an outside, there can't be an inside. That's just semantics, molly. 😉 Call your inside something else - something that implies a totality of existence - and I'll happily lose my insistence on an outside.

Oops! 😳
But of course one's inside may be another's outside. Which is truer?
I have a dimension travel machine for sale, its similar to a time machine but subtly different as the outside is bigger than the inside but it can expand to fill the space required.
If you are interested let me know and I'll try and get it to you.
BTW a full space time coordinate will be required.
What's the right code then?
If it has http:// infront it doesn't need one but if you want to tidy it up you use the URL box above the Post text entry.
Outside is the new inside. So outside is another universe which is actually inside because that's the new outside.
@ Drac - Gotcha. Ta!
