whilst looking at the rose yesterday we noticed these..

I'm afraid your rose has cat aids and it's the bad kind.
It's a wee beastie, a gall midge. Pincushion or Moss gall.
Gardening bloke on the telly said this is the best summer for roses that he has ever seen.That could mean that there could be more pests around like [url= http://www.ipm.iastate.edu/ipm/hortnews/2008/7-2/mossyrosegall.html ]mossy rose gall[/url]

Yep ours are doing very well, loads of flowers. A lot of greenfly about though, so had to spray loads.
