need something for mtbiking/walking and motorbiking/car . if it makes any difference I've got memory map for UK stuff ( v 5.13) also would be nice if it could do a bit in europe also but not essential.
I'm out of touch with this technology and never had a satnav so thought someone on here may be up to speed on this subject
thanks in advance
Bill

I used my Viewranger on my phone recently whilst in Spain, trying to find routes offroad. I downloaded them using the opensource maps. They were of now use really, most paths were not marked and what was on the map was well off route.
For road use, on motorbike and car, I use my phone and a RAM Mount (needed for mtrbike).

I think you'll struggle to find a SatNav that will do offroad and on abroad and UK.

Second using a phone, I use a Nokia 5800. No need to carry aother bit of tech with you. I use Nokia Maps on the road which is free worldwide and doesn't use any data if you remeber to download the maps at home. I use Viewranger off road (walking, MTBing, etc), you need to buy the OS, IGN, etc maps or there are free ones, although as above they aren't brilliant. Use it in the UK and Morzine and its great.

I use MM tracker on my Android phone, with Memeory map tiles on my SIM.
