What’s the STW approved timepiece of choice for the discerning pre-teen? Must have ability to set alarms and be significantly smaller than a fenix6

Pic for attention

G Shock

Bought my 12 year old one to stop him pinching mine.

Credor Minute Repeater?

Or a Timex Command LT, like a G-Shock but with a proper light and legibility.

OOh Credor.

Picked up my Grand Seiko today, 12yr old me would have been made up with that lol.

If it must be beepy, then G-Shock would be worth a look, but they can be a bit spendy. Tough as old boots, though.

If not, Timex, as mentioned above.

...but secondary school kids probs don't get many cool points for wearing a Timex. Isn't having a Timex instead of a G going to be a bit like getting Hi-Tec trainers in a world of Adidas?

Don't know, Timex are having a serious run of form recently with quite a few models getting a lot of attention from the media so it might actually be the better choice.

Can't you ask the 12 year old what he'd like? Although if you're really asking, I'd get him a Jager LeCoultre Polaris Mariner Memovox over that Credor every day of the week.

My lad's. £45.

https://www.creationwatches.com/products/casio-digital-350/casio-g-shock-dw-9052-1vdr-dw9052-1vdr-mens-watch-1295.html?currency=GBP

It did come from Singapore though, so it took a couple of weeks to arrive.

Argos Casio for £15 as above, given how frequently it's likely to get lost!

Wooobob +1

Fwiw, one of ours has Umbro el cheapy digital, one has a nice simple Swatch (apparently v. cool in Dunblane) and the other a digi outdoorsy Timex.

Casio have a web page outlet.

Casio outlet

The stuff is b grade stock.

I had a g shock from there. There was a tiny mark on the tin it came in.

£60 which is 50% off for one of these.

that yellow gshock would be absolutely spot on but its just going to be too big - he could have my old fenix3 if he could lift a watch that size!
Timex's seem to come in more sensible sizes so ill take a look at that.
the £15 casio will be the defacto choice if i cant find anything fancier

Gotta be a Swatch, surely?

Mind you they're not cheap any longer. But I bet they all have the same cheap as chips movement.

It was a Seiko 5 here. Which he now swaps with a Garmin 735.
