Conversation at work today got me reminiscing about a car transporter I had as a kid; bloody amazing it was. Dunno why but I still think car transporters are pretty cool.
Then at age of 13 I got my paper round and would walk every Saturday past HA Fox in Torquay, stopping to stare at the Bentleys, RRs and Ferraris, and the model F40 in the window. It was £1.80 per gazillion free papers delivered, and the first thing I saved up and bought was that model..

Lego for me. Although Battling Tops was good for occasional use.
Oh yeah - and the Lego was in the days when you bought a small cardboard packet of bricks - none of your pre-designed kits that will only build one thing 🙂
Lego. And it still remains brilliant. Almost as much fun as messing about on the bike.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Lego it all it's formats, probably Technic had the edge.

@Kojaklollipop - awesome! I remember seeing one in the mid/late 70's and wanted one.
Had Action Man and a few accessories but was somewhat limited by the fact that my parents were pacifists..
Guns, especially those really loud revovler cap guns, and toy soldiers.

Tying two things in together I built a Rhino, Thunderhawk and Boulder Hill out of Lego for my kid brother.
None of the Western world toys.
I think mine was just a simple hardwood stick (cut from tree) without the bark (I stripped it off) that I carried around with me all the time. Used it for everything from hitting giant lizard, dogs, fishing rod and arm extension. The stick is still in my parents' house.

Much as I wrack my brains I can't remember much of my toys except for the ubiquitous Lego (which I did love, and I still do now, playing it with my boys).
Most of my memories are around playing outside or building stuff, but then I lived on a farm of sorts and with that kind of playground, you'd be nuts not to make the most of it.

Lego technic with my remote controlled car a close second.
Lego was obviously a huge part of life; pneumatic stuff that lifted things pointlessly - I had a thing for building random 3 wheeled vehicles. Guess I just took lego for granted; doesn't remind me of the excitement of that car transporter, or the F40.
(although getting a gameboy as above, was a pretty big deal!)

I need to dig out my Dad's camcorder tapes - I'm sure thaeres footage of me building the Lego Pneumatic JCB while my brother plays supermrioland on my Gameboy (you can tell by the soundtrack) That was a most awesome Christmas.
I had an axe, kept it hid behind the garage.
Lego,airfix, bikes action man those little plastic soldiers some about 5cm others about 2cm and as above matches,aerosol,parafin always trying to blow things up musta been a proper chav years well decades before it became fashionable
My action man truck was the fastest toy any kid round my way could ride down the hill, i had a 100% record on that. Tonka truck was shit slow though.
Action force brings back some good memories and lego goes without saying really, great stuff.

I was given a rusty old 1950's ladies Raleigh bike by a neighbour when I was 5.It had metal rod brakes and I couldn't even sit on the saddle and reach the pedals till I was 7.Kept it till I was 14 customised Chopper style with a 20 inch front wheel, 26 rear and old airfix Umbro paint job.Always felt a bit embarrased 'cos it had a girl's bike frame but hey better than nothing.Went everywhere on it.

That Raleigh sounds awesome - I can't imagine my childhood without a bike of some description... but tbh I never counted 'em as toys (in my case, a BMX for my 7th birthday - possibly the best thing that ever happened to me).
