Stalin didn't use the "useful idiots" term - it is often (wrongly) attributed to Lenin.
Just, you know, before you call other people idiots
Do we get a red alert, just like last week’s weather?
Someone warm up the Vulcan bombers….
Sainsbury's would be more orange and violet, no? And seeing, and indeed hearing, Vulcans in the sky would probably make more of Britain happy than any news of late...
My sister, who lives in Ford
*wonder if I've met her.... 🙂 *
As before, if you want to follow the news in Salisbury, the best place is http://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk
(Pictures Count Zero as a blustering old colonel, with a gammy leg, a well polished monocle and a greying waxed moustache that adds theatric poise every time he speaks... (LOUDLY (Through his arse)))
Tell you what though, it's bloody good of those Ruskies to dabble in chemical weapons just as another attempt at pushing the old faithful chemical weapons in Syria narrative is in progress.
There again, Her Majesty's Chemical Weapons experts helped with Saddam's arsenal...
Then there's the small matter of Thatcher wanting to threaten Iraq with Chemical Weapons
Of course, that would never happen again, after all, Her Majesty's Government has a different head of state now, doesn't it?

"In a speech in 1965, Spruille Braden, an American diplomat stationed in a number of Latin American countries during the 1930s and '40s and later a lobbyist for the United Fruit Company, said the term was used by Joseph Stalinto refer to what Braden called "countless innocent although well-intentioned sentimentalists or idealists" who aided the Soviet agenda."
So... also attributed to Stalin.
Some idiots. Useful.
Smartarse.
Oops, in all the excitement, I actually meant Mr Woppit, but that name goes more with a tired old historian, with a moth eaten tank top, who stinks of pipe smoke, with stained teeth, thumbs and mad staring bloodshot eyes, magnified by his thick horn rimmed spectacles. His nasal hair is quite something.
The right arm of his armchair is collapsed due to his propensity to bash it with thunderous force each time he makes a point, celebrating the good old days of bayonets, blunderbus and the colonies.
The acrid stench of tobacco is further amplified by the unmistakeable tinge of urine.
Plenty of Red (alert) corduroy trousers in Salisbury.
As for Russian money I think you’ll find the majority given to the Tories comes from those opposed to Putin. If you are a Putin supporter you are living in Russia and doing very nicely.
Corbyn got it wrong today, plenty of Labour critism of his responce pkus the obvious history of him cosying up to Russia and the “communists”
Of course, we could just replace wars with forum abuse, but it wouldn't do much good for the arms trades of any of the nations involved, whose rulers regardless of nationality, religion or ethnicity all bear culpability for inhumane acts and the continued escalation of conflict in their strategic and economic interests, whilst playing political pantomime to engage and confuse the masses.
Ted Heath lived in Salisbury .
Makes you think ....*
*About irrelevant waffling conspiracy loonbaggery drifting off from the topic.
It's terrible innit our politicians and diplomats mucking it right up. It's crazy. Particularly when they could just come and ask you lads. ItdI get sorted quick enough then. I tells ye
My sister, who lives in Ford
The one near Tiddlywink ?
After Gotham it's one of my favourite place names
Still not as good as Wetwang...
I was also giggling at some of todays place names I drove past - Chipping Sodbury for a start...
matt - Sodding Chipbury as it's less than affectionately named by some of the locals.........

Oh. The ironing.
Tillerson seems on board. The Orange Buffoon continues to avoid criticising anything Russian, for some strange reason...
Perhaps our resident Tinfoil Crash Helmet could explain why.
My sister, who lives in Ford, says that Sainsbury’s has been closed off…
They have run out of washing powder and baby wipes.
I’m still waiting for an answer from MsRudd about the previous 14 incidents like this that the police were told to stop investigating..
And BloHards brother has links to the large Russian Investment Banks..
Of course, we could just replace wars with forum abuse,
I think on balance, that would be preferable
How about that secret donation to the DUP ?
any links at all ?
the comments on the dialy fail on this story are priceless, we need a new game russian bot or not 🙂
top rated comment....
Not as bad as the EU dumping all their dross on British soil. How many....r a p i s t s....murderers and violent criminals have come from EU countries and committed CRIMES in England??
with the reply
If truth be known I wouldn't be surprised if the German run EU was behind all of this.

Sorry Theresa, don't believe a word of it, all a distraction. How about this level of outrage and media attention for Telford and the thousands of poor children.
If the Russian politician(properly swivelled eyed type) on R4 a moment ago is representative of that countries leadership we better get ready for a bumpy ride.
If you are a Putin supporter you are living in Russia and doing very nicely.
.....or not
.
If the Russian politician(properly swivelled eyed type) on R4 a moment ago
Swivelled eyed, you say?
So jhj is a Russian politician! ...... or..... is he?
Damn, rumbled... after all the work I've put in through the years, it was kinda inevitable that Woppit would be my undoing.
Chapeau sir, as you folks with english as a 1st language say
Underwhelming passive-aggressive tactic.
Doesn't make you seem any less ridiculous.
So, bickering children aside...
It seems TM is certain that Russia is to blame. Now what? What does she think we can actually do to make Russia think twice about doing this sort of stuff on British soil? What could we actually do?
Probably freezing bank accounts, limiting visas, sending home a few diplomats.
Yeah, that'll really scare 'em 😆
The acrid stench of tobacco is further amplified by the unmistakeable tinge of urine.
Can a tinge amplify a stench? Sounds a bit Jay Rayner-ish. Or Will Self.
Yeah, that’ll really scare ’em
Well, if the oligarchy who support Putin get their financial pips squeezed enough, they're not likely to be very happy with him.
Probably start looking around for a replacement...
For some reason the bit about the US being supportive has been dropped for the last news update.
Tillerson who supported the UK has been sacked by Trump !
Maybe that is why it is not in the news anymore.
Zokes, Russia doesn't believe in nuclear war any longer. There was an article a while back where one of their top brass pretty much scoffed at the idea of using nukes. The capability of ours that they were most scared of, was our light infantry. That might seem silly but the Russians seem to think that they can fight low level conflicts with western partners and not start a nuclear war.
I get the feeling that this is a Russian test of EU resolve as opposed to strictly a mesaage to Britain. The EU got lambasted by an ambassador over the Polonium incident
My guess is that if the EU do the same again, Putin will see it as a green light for further incursions into former Soviet states.
Zokes, you ask what we can really do? But lets say we started killing Russian mercenaries in Syria in retaliation, what could Putin really do?
Zokes, you ask what we can really do? But lets say we started killing Russian mercenaries in Syria in retaliation, what could Putin really do?
Start stationing the Russian troops in schools and hospitals. The Russians are far less squeamish than the west about that sort of thing, and rather good at media manipulaition to boot.
The problem with that is that we have 15 odd years of experience in waiting for the right opportunity to blow up Taliban members.
Also, I reckon if we were aggressive enough with our own propaganda - the Russians hiding behind women and children like cowards would be a pretty good propaganda coup.
Now if we were being really Machievellian we could use this incident to bait Russia into destabilising Eastern Europe further, which may or may not give us more wiggle room in the Brexit negotiations.
I was just using the express as a link to that video, that article is daft even for the express.
If Putin wanted to test the EU, he would be done it in Germany or Poland.
I don't think he needs to, apart from the French we are the only European country that comes close to having the capability of repelling Russian incursions. The Bundeswehr are a joke and Germany is obsessed with soft power whilst mainland Europe is even more reliant on Russian gas than us. I would say that the Russians want to deepen the divide between us (who they see as one of the strong links in the chain who have deep experience of fighting hybrid war/counter insurgency and the balls to actually exercise hard power) and the EU.
Europe may in the future have to choose between us and Moscow, if they choose the latter then only the French will defend them.
Seems Russia are being sensible about it and May is the one causing hysteria
Taken from the Guardian;
Russia’s ambassador to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), has accused the UK government of making “unfounded accusations” and “pumping hysteria” over the Salisbury poisoning.
In a letter to the OPCW following Theresa May’s statement that Russia has until midnight to explain how the Skripals were poisoned, Alexander Shulgin said:
<div class="quoted__contents">
We remind our English colleagues that Russia and the United Kingdom are members of the OPCW ... We call upon them to abandon the language of ultimatums and threats and return to the legal field of the chemical convention, which allows us to resolve this kind of situation.
</div>
Shulgin claimed May’s ultimatum breached OPCW protocol. He added:
<div class="quoted__contents">
We would also like to emphasise that such explanations under the chemical weapons convention are provided to the requesting state party as soon as possible, but in any case no later than ten days after the request is received. In this regard, the ultimatum demands to provide information immediately are absolutely unacceptable.
We urge our British colleagues to save propaganda fervour and slogans for an unenlightened domestic audience.
There they may work, within the walls of the specialised international organisation, such as the OPCW, one must operate with facts and only with facts. Stop pumping hysteria, officially formalise your request to us to begin consultations in order to clarify the situation.
</div>
Seems Russia are being sensible about it
Well. Depends on whether they did it or not doesnt it?
Trying to kill someone and then saying you should be using this convention to complain isnt really being sensible but legalistic.
I am also not sure the OCPW was designed for dealing with assassinations as opposed to use in warfare.
