In the run-up to Christmas, think of all the good things you have got from this place. I figure it must be a fair bit, because whenever I don't know about something, even my wife says, 'have you asked on Singletrackworld?'

In any case, I was lurker with the same forum name before the 'hack', and have been intermittently active since... so I have been hanging around STW for a good few years.

In that time, I have:

-received tonnes of bike-specific advice
-learned about wood burners
-been correcty diagnosed a few times
-been given free legal advice by a real solicitor
-been encouraged to get back on the bike (and stay on it) after some very poor health
-made (good) decisions about my cars based on what was said on here
-laughed once or twice

So go on. Anyone willing to admit that this particular online hang-out has been good to them?

- given me some good ideas about recovery from injury
- saved me from boring friends and family with bike talk
- keeps me somewhat informed about what's going on in the world

helped me recycle low value stuff I dont use that might otherwise have sat gathering dust or ended up in landfill, the recipients of which have kindly made donations to the Air Ambulance.

Lots of laughs
Some incredible photography
Some 'interesting' photography
Some dubious but funny photography
Techy bike answers
Good and bad advice (both are good in their own ways right?)

And some funny, interesting, great debating!

Ask not what STW has done for you - ask what you have done for STW. 🙂

It helps me keep track on people who I like to meet in real life.

I never let them know, how I know so much about them though, or who I really am.

Caused me to spend lots on bargain second hand bike bits.

Allowed me to meet the locals and go riding throughtout the UK.

Realised there're plenty of bodgers and fettlers out there with similar taste to me.

Caused me to receive disciplinary warnings about internet usage in at least 2 jobs.

i love this forum (since i got the interweb back in 2009 😉 this is probably the only forum that i have stuck with all the time.have had some great advice about dealing with lack of motivation/depression,and how to keep riding my bike (still have to take the advice though,as going through a non biking phase atm 🙁 also have had great answers to nearly every question i have put up here (whatever it may be).also like the humour on here also.have never felt unwelcome either.i would really miss this forum if it ever went (and you guys also 😳 EDIT would also like to add that people had offered to send me money when i put a question up about what food to buy for a small amount of cash.i was taken aback by their kindness to be honest 😀

Mainly music for me, thanks to chaps like thepurist, organic355, schrickvr6. TSY and Jamie I've discovered some lovely new sounds for my ears.

Not to mention the forum rides, the Brewer bloke and of course, the Big Bike bash, which means my kid gets to have maximum fun on his bike too!

Oh and speaking of Dezb jr. - he's started playing rugby because someone started a thread on here about kid's rugby! And for some reason I really like standing around in a muddy field watching kids chasing after a egg shaped ball of a Sunday morning 😀

Then there's the laughs...

Oh and what about Bullheart!

I never knew there was so much in it...

STW is ace.

I've had some sound advice from people on here and a forum member came to the rescue with a very reasonably priced pair of forks too (thanks Clong!). The music threads help while away my lunch hours and of course there's Picolax.

Nice folk in real life
Interesting and hardly used bike bits
Some great routes
A collective interweb hug when bad things happen.
Picolax - seconded. It's not everyday you cry laughing whilst at your desk.
