Summertime by Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff, always makes me want one of those bouncy suspension cars and a sunny day.

Are we talking state of the world or state of personal mind?

The choices might be quite different.

side of life[/url]

Despite being ridiculous has a few lines of note for dealing with the current state of things.

Plenty in the rock and metal genre of the 90s that describe the world's mess. Shows two things 1) collectively humans seem to learn less from their history than our ability to academically understand stuff about science and engineering suggests we should 2) we might yet survive a while longer

Brian Ferry and Roxy music's "Oh Yeah". Always liked the song and as I was driving away from a particularly dark period of my life it came up on the radio. To this day it signifies new beginnings and hope.

And

I can't think of time in my life time when the UK felt so tribal, so entrenched and so divided.

There's always been a bit of Labour v Tories, Left v Right, but this is something else completely. It's very bitter on both sides and it's only getting worse, what makes it worse for me is once you've picked your team you HAVE to agree with everything that that stands for, there is less scope for individual thought when you're too busy fighting the enemy.
