Bored with freeview and adverts so want to pre-record programmes and want kids to watch more discovery type channels.

Not interested in sport apart from superbikes etc.

There seems to be a bewildering selection of packages from SKy, BBC etc.

Is HD worth paying for?

Any opinions out there (based on experience of course).

Cheers

All I got now is Freesat and a Humax PVR.

I dumped $ky at £57 few months ago and don't miss it.

HD was nice, but not £10 good per month. But new channels are coming along in HD all the time.

I ordered last night. You can only get HD boxes now, but you don't have to take the HD pack. the box is free at the moment, but installation is £30 if you don't take the HD pack.

Go via the promo link on here

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/

and you get a free ipod touch.

I went for just one "pack", the news pack as it gives me eurosport. all the other channels I'm bothered about are free to air. Have also chosen to get sky talk and free sky broadband although am keeping my BT Line rental

Is the sky talk and broadbad comparable to the BT type broadband and internet phone?

Is sky internet via satellite?

Ha sky broadband when we lived with the Mother in law for a few months, had no problems with it. It's via the phone line - you need a BT line (or a line from sky)
