For around £500-650.

I aim to use it mainly for media stuff (internet, ripping/sorting CDs etc), but also some word processing, AutoCAD work and photo processing.

At the moment I'm looking at the Dell 15R.

Any good deals around at the moment?

15r looks good with an I5or7, fast HD 5400, and get an independent graphics card.

Check out the dell outlet for more spec for your ££

Dell Inspiron or XPS 15.

Look on Quidco for 10% off deals and cashback and also the outlet.

There is a new Inspiron SE out in Austrailia, Singapore and few others with the new Ivy Bridge chipset and the full HD 15" screen if you can wait but they are selling off the current XPS models. I am holding off on the buy button for the fully loaded XPS 15 with the full HD screen.

I find 1366 resolution 15.6" screens too low resolution so want a 1920 one and the XPS screen is very nice with excellent colours.
