Suggestions please, be nice to each other everyone, it's meant to be a pleasant thing.

I've just listened to Doves- 'There goes the Fear'. nice, if you feel that way.

Elvis did some phenomenal stuff.

Actually I think you might be right. I don't really like the Beach Boys but that's a fantastic song.

Starlings, by the utterly wonderful Elbow is pretty damned good, too. I love the line “you are the only thing in any room you're ever in”.

Shame about the dumbass shots of a blackbird in the visuals. It's not about a "blackbird", in the same way Churchill's "black dog" was not about a dog that was black. Never mind - great shots of Joe...

Jacques Brel did it -

Set aside any dislike for sweaty, dead, buck-teethed Beligians - it's unsurpassable.... and it seems to work very well on women....

Ooh, I second 'caledonia'. I can't sing that without my voice cracking and a lump in my throat.

Same goes for 'wires' by athlete. I challenge anyone with kids to try and sing along to that without being blinded by tears. Bloody marvellous stuff 'i see it in your eyes, I see it in your eyes, you'll be aaaalllllll boohoooooo right'
😀

Love will tear us apart- Joy Division

^^^^^ What he said!

closely followed by Friday I'm in Love by the cure, for its sheer joy and optimism, and Tainted Love by soft cell, for the complete opposite! (though I also love the Deathline International version, commonly attributed to Skinny Puppy,

)

Spitting games snow patrol amuses me for its stalkerish tale of unrequited love

I broke into your house last night
And left a note at your bed-side
Im far too shy to speak to you at school
You leave me numb and im not sure why

'For you I'd bleed myself dry' - Coldplay - Yellow is one hell of a line...

Paul Weller - You Do Something to me

Just a couple to add to the list...

Still, agree with a post above - Hazel O'Connor - Will You - though it has to come second to our 'first dance tune
[url=

are you doing the rest of your life..? Though I think it's very hard to beat the version but Alison Moyet...

'Flamingoes Fly' from the album The Philosopher's Stone by the legendary Van Morrison.

Actually, I struggled with this, there's a few contenders.
