Moving to a house that has a sky dish, but I don't want to subscribe, so will I get any free channels via an old skybox? (Dish has twin leads for sky+)
I believe you can get most of what's on Freeview.
You need to get a [s](free)[/s] card for the box. Not sure where these are from.

You need to buy a Freesat card which is £25 - I recall that I just phoned them up and sorted it there and then.
Cheers x
sky+ recording functionality costs you £10 a month. I'll be looking for a freesat pvr when my sky contract expires
so you just have the freesat box then (no card)....... i got rid of my sky subsription few months back and still get some free sky channels- i,ll have to look into wether you get more channels with the freesat box...anyone else with freesat and is it ok ?
We have Freesat in our bedroom (it just takes a third feed from our satellite dish, the other two feeds being for the totally unconnected Sky+ account downstairs).
It works fine.
