I recently put an adjustable TV bracket on the wall for a 50" plasma.
I used the cheapo plugs and bolts supplied with the bracket.
They are starting to pull out with the weight and I need to move it and reattach it.
The wall is block construction.
Can anyone recommend the best fixings/rawl plugs for heavy items on a block wall?
Thunderbolts or similar, drill hole & screw in fixing, no plugs and really secure.
Hilti do the best ones but you probably can't buy in small quantities, screw fix or b&q should have a version - here's what youre looking for (m6x50 will do)

I would say as a rule of thumb never ever use the fixings that come with anything.
Our house is made of thermalite blocks (the really soft ones) with dry lining plasterboard. So I used enormous f off frame fixings. Telly is still up so far 🙂
Use something like Rawplug Throughbolts. You could then use the original hole positions, just drill out the plugs. Or sanitary fixing rawplugs (Grey) and bolts.
I would use something like this

Then cut off the access thread.
Or these fixings

grantway - I have used the shield anchors as suggested.
I have got them in the wall and have tightened them up.
How tight do you secure them? They seem to just continue on expanding as they crack the block work. Do you just nip them up?
Brown plugs and 2x10 screws.
