Do you reckon that in the same way the Beeb have had Thatcher programmes, obituaries and so on pre-recorded for when the time came, successive governments have had stealth legislation lined up? 😀

This might have made the front page if announced at any other time.

"The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with NR's performance, particularly on long-distance routes".

How fitting that at a time when the nation is considering the legacy left by the Baroness, a failed privatised company with no owner should handsomely reward its bosses for failure.

The smug look of satisfaction during hard economic times :

You couldn't make it up.

Nothing much:
- repealed Slavery laws
- introduced capital punishment for being unemployed
- abolished the NHS
- Left the EU
- tripled MP's salaries (only for Conservatives though)
- changed the Highway code to allow Range Rovers to use the pavements if the roads are busy, or there isn't a convenient parking spot.

"The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with NR's performance, particularly on long-distance routes".

On the day when NR got fined 450,000 quid for letting a siganlman answer the phone and raise a barier that resulted in a train /car collision, the signalman also got a big fine.Because they didnt spend a few thousand to interlock the barriers with the signal.

also the same day as two people sadly died on a half barrier level crossing.

and probably a lot more unreported news due to the hold the tories have on the press/media.

So are you saying they killed Thatcher to try and sneak something in under the radar?
