It means the person using it has little imagination and a limited vocabulary. 🙂

My fave at work whilst talking to prisoners is, STFU or HTFU, ie, shut or hurry (the **** up) But if I'm in general conversation with 'Da Boyz' & i get on about food, for instance, then I may mention the fact that I had a FBI for supper. (Fu**ing Big Indian)or a BFOC (Big Fu** Off Chinese). & so on. Part of the prison acronym culture I guess.

Never knew what the 'M' in MTFU was till now though.

My o/h uses this when talking to one of his colleagues whose surname is Man. It's way funnier then, with a comma after "Man". Well, I think so...

I told Lance Armstrong to MTFU once after he was whining and bleating about his bloody broken collarbone. He probably didn't read it though cos it was on Twitter.

Still, it gave me a bit of a kick at the time 😉

I fell off at least 5 times today - the second to last time I hurt my ankle, the last time I bust the rear mech hanger and REALLY hurt my ankle. Had to push the bike up the hill to a pub because there was no mobile signal where it happened and as we were walking up the hill my husband asked if now was "a good time to tell you to MTFU?".
This is NOT an appropriate time to use the phrase. It can cause damage.
😉
