Morning,

Need to get from York to Whitby this Sunday for a beach volleyball tournament and trains/buses are cr@p (3 hours each way!!). There's 4 of us going so I reckon hiring a car will be cheap.
Which company will make it cheapest for us?

Cheers,
jon

Just ring round the ones local to you and see who has the best price. i find it always varies. Check some of the car dealerships too as many have rental sections. Oh and don't forget to try and haggle a bit.

one car one always used to be amongst the best but I think they've gone bust now.

Budget only asked me for £70 for a weekend for an OK car....try them.
I've had ace service in the past

Enterprise seem to be coming up trumps based on the online quote I've got. £28ish for pickup on Saturday afternoon and dropoff Monday morning. Might give them a call later.

carhire3000 find the cheapest for you. We've used them before with no problems. Apart from the time when my wife went on her own and spent half an hour wandering round Glasgow airport looking for the carhire3000 desk.
"I can see Hertz and Avis but not carhire3000".

I've used enterprise a few times now - always have offers on and the cars are usually very good.

Yeah enterprise for me. Saved me a grand on recent vehicle hire and good service.

try holidayautos or carhire3000 on the web

Basically just a middle man using all the big names, but they have ALWAYS quoted considerably cheaper than going direct to Enterprise and the like.

avoid europcar, had a hire car off them every mon/tues (for work purposes - work have organised the deal) for the last 3 years, yet they still manage to **** it up, the the billing is a joke (constant overcharges)
