Mrs Grips wants to go to some place in Bradford, and we might make a weekend of it. So where's a good campsite (that takes caravans) that's not too far away? Preferably with some flat easy biking nearby for the kiddie trailer. Railway lines or sustrans routes, that kind of thing.

grips - How close to Bradford do you want to be? There's a tiny caravan club site not too far from me - here, roughly 6 miles from Bradford. It's right next to a brewery tap (might not be a good thing!), not too far from a pub that does food and is pretty close to a well surfaced canal path, and a couple of greenways (Spen & Calder Valley ones). Not really a scenic location though, mind!

I would suggest you want to be going somewhere Ilkley way for nice surroundings.

No idea about campsites though as I never need to camp.

Doesn't need to be particularly close. Just so that we can get there reasonably.

Then Ilkley, Otley, Skipton etc might be nicer

Yes.

My Auntie lives in Skipton, but I dunno if I want to stay a whole weekend with her 🙂

Wher in Bradford do you want to be?

I would suggest the north side of Bradford over the south, much nicer place. There used to be a CL at the bottom of Otley Chevin, but not sure its still there.

Flat riding...no chance its a bit hilly round here. The Leeds Liverpool Canal will be your best bet.

This is a good spot on Baildon Moor

http://www.dobrudden.co.uk/index.html

Close to Saltaire world heritage site and Leeds-Liverpool Canal for kiddie trailer rides (10 minutes pedal away) Baildon Moor area for off-road fun, Fanny's Ale House ( http://www.fannysalehouse.com/), Bradford city center for ace curries (though also good options more locally) and media museum etc. etc.

PM me for more info.

We don't really do flat. As others have said the Leeds-Liverpool canal is flatish but getting under the bridges may be a challenge with a trailer.

I wouldn't fancy towing a kid trailer back to the top of baildon moor!
