GoreTex is usually inside the boots. Are they fabric or leather boots? Nikwax do different stuff for both types. I have GoreTex lined nubuck leather boots and was recommended a conditioner/cleaner for them and some other stuff for waterproofing, they came in a packet together from Nickwax. If they are just plain leather, the rub on Nickwax stuff (comes in a tin) has always worked well for me.

Sorry I meant to put 'leather' in the message.

either the nikwax stuff or something like brasher boot wax is really excellent. granger stuff has been a bit crap IME.

I have old Scarpa boots, and they recommend their HS22?? cream on them - it's a silicon based cream, looks like silicon and totally waterproofs my boots. Have found it much better than nikwax, bought it in local hiking shop.
