Morning all.

I'm looking for a waterproof jacket (gore-tex or similar) and was wondering if there are any good sources of reasonably priced kit - end of line, last years models etc.

As much as I would like the latest insertexpensivebrandnamehere offering, I just can't justify spending upward of £200 on one; not when I have children to feed too.

I saw the link to the finnisterre stuff the other week and quite liked the look of it - is it any good?

i ordered a matanuska and anabatic from the finisterre sale, both great design, great fit, high quality and seem to be waterproof too

TK Maxx.

Got my Montane Superfly for £50 from there, also a decent Patagonia waterproof for £30 a few years back.

Although you may have to go to a couple of stores and maybe try a few times before you strike gold.

soobalias. Not really for riding - don't forget, were all 40something IT keyboard warriors really, aren't we 😳 ?

Walking/everyday use really. I don't mind getting wet when I get out on the bike. Budget is around the £100 mark (I'm looking for a gore-tex or similar fabric), and I'm not after anything too garish in colour.

I finally got my finisterre anabatic and am very pleased with it. It's £90 if you use the code watertightsteal.

Thanks for the tip. <<wanders over to finisterre>>

<<shuffles back to STW>>

The code isn't valid anymore. 😥

various waterproof stuff here, used regularly and recommended.

also ive got a nice cheap softshell (black), much like this one, cant remember where i bought it from. Too warm for riding most of the time, perfect if its below zero, you only have a thin t-shirt on underneath...
